Travel Around the World in One Stop

So you love Free People? Then you will Love World Market! LOVE this store!! Seriously though, when I walk into this store, I feel captivated by their Bohemian vibes and fun pops of color everywhere. I immediately walk over to their clothing and accessory section, and although it’s generally small, I have found some super cute pieces for fantastic prices.

You know how Free People has some really unique pieces that are inspired boho and generally fit flowy? Well, World Market’s collection has the same styles for ½ the price! Of course, you can’t find the exact pieces as if they were a Free People knock-off… but in general, they have some pretty cool wardrobe pieces that are fun additions to add to your closet.

Oversized peasant top for just $39.99
Oversized peasant top for just $39.99

I recently purchased this oversized peasant top for just $39.99.

I pulled it off with the ½ tuck look to minimize to bulk + added my favorite pair of army green chinos by JCrew (a staple in your wardrobe – to be discussed on another day) + paired it with my latest DSW find – Harvey Bootie by Fergalicious – which by the way are SO comfy!

Stella & Dot earrings

As for the accessories, statement earrings are on trend for Spring – so I pulled in this oldie but goodie Stella & Dot earrings. Love how these earrings can be dressed up or down, definitely a staple.

So here’s a fun trick with the belt I used: this jeweled belt is made to be worn as a high-waisted belt with a sheath dress clipped together in the front. Instead, I pulled it off with these pants by leaving it open with the jewels hanging on the outside of two front loops.

Stylist Tip: In hindsight, this look can only be pulled off with an elastic belt.

Keep in mind the stores have a limited selection of fashion finds, so go online for more – but if you have never stepped into a World Market before, you need to experience it! Check out my recent finds:

So many clutches and crossbodies to choose from! This is one of my go-to stores for unique handbags for a fab price! I ALWAYS get compliments when I accessories with one and to be honest; I generally use them for my everyday purse. I’ll switch it up from time to time, but it’s my go-to handbag. On the rare occasion is the strap can sometimes get disconnected – just keep in mind the amount you are paying for the bag and make due by tying a knot to secure the straps connection.

Stylist Tip: A baby step into the world of pattern handbags is to start with a black & white pattern. Those two colors are neutrals, so it will flow with every other color you got going on in your outfit.

Love this navy & white shaggy one down below – it’s boho and nautical mixed into one. Perfect for Spring!

They have tons of hats to choose from!

Stylist Tip: If you are new to the hat game or in general nervous to pull together, consider wearing to the following events: Winery or Brewery, Festival, Concert, Farmers Market, the beach, Spring/Summer outdoor party…

Stylist Tip: Lace can generally be dressed up or down. This lace overlay top can simply be paired with your favorite jeans and booties. I wouldn’t go heavy on the accessories because you don’t want to overplay the lace, so simple earrings, and a fun bracelet will do the trick.

Kimonos, Capes & Wraps oh my!

Seriously ladies, this kind of a layer is a staple in your wardrobe! It is so easy to pull off this look, and it can be worn dressed up or casual.

Stylist Tip: Be inspired by the colors within and give it a pop of fun in your accessories. The one below is pretty basic, so I would pair with black jeans, a basic white tee, and a statement necklace that is bright and full of color but still has black as one of its primary colors. You always want to keep the flow of the outfit by accenting the primary color used within your outfit.

Although these super cute jewelry holders would make a lovely gift, I also think it would be a pretty gift to myself from myself ; )

I am always coming across my first-time clients closest who have all of their jewelry in one drawer – so here’s the thing about doing that… you never get to see them! Having your accessories displayed out in the open gets your creative juices flowing when you are trying to pull together a fab outfit.

Stylist Tip: World Market has a free rewards program where you can get store credit based on the number of points you collect. Always keep in mind to check with your go-to stores to see if they have rewards programs – just connect your account with a burner email and say Hello to extra money in your pocket!

Pictures of items taken in-store are from my local Sterling, VA location, so if you are in the area, grab them before they are gone.
