Play On Pattern
To be expected, floral print is on trend this Spring, but here’s a fun twist to try this season, mixing print and pattern in one garment.
So I know for some of you that sounds kind of scary…
Try this out, find a garment that has both patterns in one. Trust me; it will make your outfit pairing session a breeze!
The key is to play off the pattern in the garment.
Be inspired by the colors used within the pattern and pair one of the main colors with a solid garment to execute the outfit.
My favorite go-to play on pattern is the mix of floral and stripes. It keeps things interesting without going overboard
+ it’s one of those combos that will never fade.
I found the perfect asymmetrical midi skirt by Lord & Taylor’s Design Lab brand that has both stripes and floral in one.
P.S it’s currently on sale for only $40.80 (and they always have extra discounts you can deduct from your total)
In this case, I played off the primary color black and paired with a lace cami (tucked in) and a light-weight leather jacket.
I cannot speak enough about the open-toed Fergalicious booties paired with this outfit.
I found them recently at DSW and am repeatedly recommending to my clients this Spring. On the contrary, the height of the heel it is a super comfy shoe!
Accessories are so important in your outfit!
It helps all color elements used in the outfit flow + highlights color + each piece is unique in its own way, which generally makes it a talking piece
One of my favorite places to find one of a kind pieces is at my local consignment store. My recent Consignmine treasure is this gorgeous leather backpack featured in this look. I love being able to essentially trade my retired wardrobe pieces for one of a kind gems! Consignmine is also available online for those who are not local in the VA.
Although I cannot direct you to the exact items featured in this post,
